I developed my first property on Mara Lake in 1983. And in the 25 years since then I have learned a lot about what it takes to make great communities. It takes patience to gather the right pieces of land together (I ‘ve been sitting on one property for 15 years to get the perfect parcel together for Deer Creek Estates and Harmony Ridge). It takes a creative spark to want to create something of lasting value and to have the vision to see the potential of a property. It takes skill and experience to guide a development through the planning and development phases. And of course it takes a lot of hard work – but when you love it as much as I do, it doesn’t really seem like work.
I’m very proud of the fact that, together with the members of the Deer Creek family, I’ve been able to create great places to live for hundreds of families over the last two and a half decades. If you’re looking for a great place to live, I invite you to contact us and consider the Deer Creek advantages.
The Man Who Planted Trees (30, 000 of them)
Deer Creek CEO, Gary Edwards, loves trees. He figures he’s had about 30,000 trees planted on Deer Creek properties. And he planted a lot of them himself, by hand. Maybe it’s the values past down from his father, maybe it’s because he’s a self described “nature freak”. Whatever the reason, the residents of Deer Creek developments are the beneficiaries. The beauty, shade, shelter and value trees add to our properties are another great Deer Creek advantage.
